Background: the clip to draw the flame on.
Matte: composites specific areas of the effect over the background clip.
FLAME
Density (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 100.0)
The overall opacity of the flames.
Convection (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 40.0)
The speed with which the flames move upwards through the turbulence.
Flicker speed (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 50.0)
The speed with which the flames move forwards through the turbulence.
If the Convection is set to 0.0 then the flames will still evolve
(if Flicker is greater than 0.0) but with no upwards motion.
Turbulence (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 40.0)
Turbulence disturbs the flame; at 0.0 a pure steady flame, distorting the flame as it
increases.
Frequency 1 (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 30.0)
Frequency 2 (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 70.0)
Defines the internal features of the turbulence of the flame. The ratio of the two
frequencies defines the structure combined with the turbulence value. Swapping frequency
values results in the same flame patterns.
Tip: If the turbulence is low and both the frequencies are low the flames are broad and sweeping; with the turbulence high and both frequencies high the flames are finely detailed. As the frequencies become closer together the detailing gets less.
POSITION
Left (Min -500.0 Max 500.0 Default 12.5)
Bottom Left Y (Min -500.0 Max 500.0 Default 8.7)
Right X (Min -500.0 Max 500.0 Default 87.5)
Bottom Right Y (Min -500.0 Max 500.0 Default 8.7)
Height (Min -500.0 Max 500.0 Default 86.8)
These controls define the flame generation area. Flames are created within this
box but subsequent forces such as wind, may cause them to over shoot this box.
Curve Point 1 Y (Min -500.0 Max 500.0 Default 4.4)
Curve Point 2 Y (Min -500.0 Max 500.0 Default 13.0)
The 2 curve points define the base profile of the flames.
BLEND
Base (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 10.0)
Softens the base of the flames.
Edge (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 30.0)
Softens the edges of the flames.
MATTE
Use (Default: Off)
Off=0: the matte clip is ignored.
On=1: where it is black you will see the background and where white
the flames.
Invert (Default: Off)
This control only takes effect if Use Matte is on.
Off=0: the matte is used as is.
On=1: the effect of black->white is reversed.
Seed (Min 0 Max 9999 Default 2000)
Changing the seed creates a completely new flame structure.
WIND
From XY (Default: right)
To XY (Default: off center)
Spread (Min 0.0 Max 180.0 Default 60.0)
HEART/MIDDLE/EDGE
Red/Green/Blue (Default: heart=white middle=yellow edge=red)
Proportion (Min 0.0 Max 100.0 Default 50.0)
The speed with which the wind blows.
Where the wind is blowing from.
Where the wind is blowing to.
The cone of influence of the wind.
The flames have three colour regions; heart, at the center; middle and edge.
Default flame colours.
The distribution of the flame colours can be weighted. With all three at 50.0
the three colours are distributed evenly throughout the flames.
The ratio of the three numbers will change the balance of distribution.
e.g. to extend the core colour, increase Proportion of the heart colour.
