example bounce clip |
For the next input clip chose a clip which defines where particles will
bounce. When a particle enters the white area in this clip it will bounce off it,
reversing its motion. If you are using a full color image for the birth control clip then
only the red channel is considered.
- set up the reel; in this example both the birth and bounce clips are used
- switch on the clip control bounce in th PI
- switch on the clip control birth in th PI
- cover the birth clip with the birth position controls
- add a little downward velocity:
- Strength 10.0
- Angle 270.0
- set Gravity to 40.0
- turn off any swirling by setting Density to 0.0
- set the Wind to blow across the scene at a gentle speed of about 5.0
- turn off any sink effect, if set
- set Friction to 0.0
- stand by to adjust the Bounce Clip Damping
- KILL ALL PARTICLES.
- play the sequence
Hints:
- use the Bounce Damping factor to scale how far the particles rebound.
- using Streaks instead of Points can helpful to see what is going on.
- particles usually only get to bounce once if flowing upwards.
- particles should be moving downwards at a slight angle for the
best results.
