5D.Rover

PURPOSE
Simulates a roving magnifying lens. Various styles of lenses are possible.

INPUT CLIP
Input: clip to magnify.

LENS

YX Center (Default: center)
Position of the center of the lens.

On Ctrl2 you will find a control for the Lens Height position, this is the height of the lens relative to the light source Z position above the picture plane,

Clear Radius (Min: 0.5 Max: 500.0 Default: 50.0)
Radius of the central region of the lens (in which the magnification takes place).

Edge Width (Min: 0.5 Max: 500.0 Default: 3.0)
Width of the edge region (outside the Clear Radius) in which the magnified part of the image makes some kind of transition back to the unmagnified part of the image.

Magnification (Min: 0.05 Max: 100.0 Default: 2.0)
Basic magnification of the lens in the Lens clear radius.

Distortion (Min: 0.1 Max: 10.0 Default: 1.20)
How much distortion of the image occurs in the Clear Radius. At 1.0, there is no distortion. Values greater than one make the image bow out. Less than one, pinches it in towards the center.

Rotate (Default: 0.0)
The lens can be rotated around the z axis.

Height (Min 0.0 Max 500.0 Default 10.0)
The height of the lens relative to the light source Z position above the picture plane and will cause shadows to be cast on the picture when UseFX is on.

(Default: Circle)
Choice of shape for the lens.
Circle=0
Ellipse=1
N-Shape=2
a shape with the desired number of sides.
Ellipse and N-Shape are used with Eccentricity to define radii.

Eccentricity (Min: 0.0 Max: 1.000 Default: 0.100)
Varying this changes the shape of the Ellipse or the sharpness of N-Shape.

N Sides (Min: 1 Max: 20 Default: 3)
Defines how many sides N-Shape has.

FOCUS

ChromaticAberration (Min: 0.0 Max: 100.0 Default: 0.0)
Sets how much chromatic aberration (color fringes around borders between light and dark image areas, especially near the lens edges) should occur.

Background Blur (Min: 0.1 Max: 100.0 Default: 1.0)
Controls how much the image being magnified should be blurred outside the lens area. This can be used to give the impression of the lens bringing an otherwise out of focus image, in to focus.

Lens Blur (Min: 0.1 Max: 100.0 Default: 1.0)
Controls how much the image is blurred inside the lens.

EDGE
Shading (Min: 0.0 Max: 100.0 Default: 50.0)
Controls how much (and if) the image inside the lens gets darker towards the lens edges. With other controls, and Use surface effects ON, this can be used to give a 3D effect to the lens.

Sharpness (Min: 0.5 Max: 20.0 Default: 20.0)
Controls how quickly the image darkens towards the edge of the lens.

LIGHT
XYZ Position (Default: top right)
Position of the light source position. The height of the light relative to the lens Z position above the picture plane, will cast a shadow on the picture when UseFX is on.

Intensity (Min: 0.0 Max: 200.0 Default: 0.0)
Brightness of a light source that can cause a highlight on the surface of the lens. At 0.0 the light is off.

Tightness (Min: 1.0 Max: 1000.0 Default: 20.0)
Tightness of the light highlight on the lens surface.

Red Green Blue (Default: white)
The colour of the light.

HOTSPOTS and SHADOWS

EFFECTS
UseFX (Default: Off)
Off=0: the following controls will have no effect.
On=1: the following controls take effect to create shadows and hot spots on the image surface.

BurnBrightness (Min: 0.0 Max: 200.0 Default: 50.0)
Creates a hotspot in the lens.

Shadow Darkness (Min: 0.0 Max: 200.0 Default: 50.0)
How dark the darkest areas of the shadow will be depending on the value of Edge shading which needs to be greater than 0.0. Edge sharpness will affect the shadow coverage.

Shadow Softness (Min: 0.10 Max: 100.0 Default: 1.0)
Softens the shadow.
