Certain privileges are required to successfully install your Softimageâ product.
Windows
You must have administrative privileges to modify registry keys, remove and/or install system drivers, as well as to use services such as the following:
· Sentinel driver (to communicate with the hardware key)
· Softimage License Server (to start and stop the FLEXlmâ services)
· LM_LICENSE_FILE (system environment required by the licensing software)
IRIX
You must have super user privileges to modify system files and boot scripts:
· Default TCP port 744 (required by the licensing software)
· siflexlm (required to start and stop the FLEXlm daemon during a reboot; located in /etc/init.d/)
· S96siflexlm (required to start and stop the FLEXlm daemon during a reboot; located in /etc)
· siflexlm (required to control the configuration state of the etc/init.d/siflexlm script with chkconfig; located in /etc/config/)
Linux
You must have super user privileges to modify system files and boot scripts:
· Default TCP port 744 (required by the licensing software)
