There are a number of important files that your Softimage product uses, listed below. These files allow you to customize your Softimage Setup, and contain default settings for the location of databases and directories. You can use the User Tools dialog box to configure all of these files.
To edit configuration files, double-click on the file name to edit the contents of the file. User Tools always looks in the default location for the file. If the file is not located in the default location, a warning is displayed with the default location, and a browser opens to allow you to search for the file yourself.
