insert track


Purpose
To retrieve a previously saved track from the temporary memory if the file toggle switch is deactivated. Retrieves the track from the hard disk (permanent storage) if the file toggle button is activated. The retrieved track will be inserted into the current track before the insert frame.

Usage
Click the insert track button to activate it. The selection submenu will appear and you can make your selection. Then, if the keyboard toggle button is active, you will be prompted for the frame number you want to use as the insert frame. Otherwise, a prompt will appear in the message area at the bottom of the menu, asking you to move the frame pointer box to the required frame for the insertion. As soon as the insert frame has been set, the selected track will be inserted preceding the insert frame.

Comments
You will notice that when a track is inserted into the middle of another track, the frame points previous to the insert point will be automatically pushed back in time.
