Usage
Click the add transp button to activate it. A transparency attribute
will
be added and will be displayed in the attributes data input box as
the
currently active attribute.
Comments
The transparency attribute consists of transparency intensity, surface
color, refractive index, and transparency color. The transparency
attribute
determines how light behaves when going through an object. If you
wish to
modify an existing transparency attribute, use the previous and next
buttons to make the set current and click the appropriate box to
activate
that box. You can then type in the new value.
You will notice that the transparency input box incorporates a color and a tran color box. Use the color box whenever you want to assign color to the outer surface of a transparent object. If, however, the object itself should be colored while maintaining its full transparency, use tran color (tran is short for transparency). In this case, the complement of the required color should be assigned, since the transparent object absorbs the color.
To determine the complement of the required color, do the following:
white - red 1.00, 1.00, 1.00 (white)
1.00, 0.00, 0.00 (red)
___________________
0.00, 1.00, 1.00 (complement)
