bump map

Purpose
To add a bump map attribute to the currently active part of the tree.

Usage
Click the bump map button to display the word 'bump' in the text box in the status area. Next, click the box and enter a question mark to display the bump file map selection list. The selected bump map will be added and displayed in the attributes data input box as the currently active attribute.

Comments
A name is used to refer to the bump map attribute. This attribute determines at which angle the light will be reflected by a surface. It is not possible to add more than one bump map per surface/side. The bump map selection list can be extended by creating new GIG maps. This is done as follows:

Save a rendered model as a picture (refer to render menu section).
Access the converter menu in the tools menu and convert the picture or production (depending on the selected render option) to a gig map.
Return to attributes to select the newly created bump map from the selection list.

Images from other systems or scanned images can also be converted to GIG maps. Remember that a bump map will work only in combination with other attributes such as add diffuse.
