Usage
After creating an animation in Life Forms, it should be saved in the '/usr/tmp' directory in order to convert the animation to GIG.
In the channels menu select get life forms and select a file previously saved with Life Forms. The following prompt will appear:
Scale of animation ?
Reply with a scaling factor for the model (default 10.0). The animation will now be imported.
In GIG the Life Forms skeleton will be constructed out of transformed primitive balls with animations on the different joints. The tag names of the animated joints are copied from the skeleton used in Life Forms. The animation of the imported model can now be played back in the animation menu.
Comments
The imported model can be redesigned in GIG, by leaving the original tag names for the animated joints unchanged. It is also possible to import other animations from Life Forms and to copy the animations to the redesigned model.
This channel is supported on SGI platforms only.
