ff grids menu

snap to value

Purpose
To snap a control point to a specific value.

Usage
This button functions only if a value has been activated and set with the use and make value buttons. Click the snap to value button to activate it. The window will be redrawn to display the control points and the snap to value line. Click the control point that you want to snap to the currently active value and click. The window will be redrawn to display the changed situation.

Comments
This button works only when either point in path or point in net mode is active. Which coordinate(s) will change depends on which toggle button is active (x if use x value is active, y if use y value is active, z if use z value is active, and two coordinates if use angle is active). What value the new coordinate(s) will have depends on what was entered using the make value button. Only when working with the free form patch can the results always be visible for the user, because only then can the left window be switched (by clicking the right top window!) to different views showing different axes. For the free forms rotation and extrusion (according to their 3d characteristics), only the x-y view (ff front) is available, and the z direction is not displayed.
