Comments
When the local light toggle button is deactivated, the light source is a global light source (the light shines on all parts of the tree). When local light is activated, the light source is a local light source (the light shines only on the solids that were active before add light was selected). There is a default light source provided by GIG when you start the program. This light source is the so-called worklight. It is a good idea to assign a tag immediately after the light source is called into the environment to allow for easier access in the future.
When assigning a local light source, first activate the node in the tree (e.g. using get solid tag), then switch on local light and select add light.
The default parameters for a light added to the environment are: white light, quadratic loss of intensity over distance, no shadow casting and an intensity such that if the light from this light source reaches the current position of the light meter the intensity of the light will be exactly one.
