convert

Purpose
To start the conversion.

Usage
Usually this is the last button you press (before exiting the Converter). After all the selections have been made the conversion can start. The selected images from the source directory will be converted into the appropriate image formats in the destination directory.

show

Purpose
To show the images of the selected files. It has the same effect as the command line utility `show'. The images will be shown in the center of the screen.

Usage
Clicking on the image with a left mouse click will show you the next selected image. If there was no next image to show the show function is finished. The supported file formats that can be shown are: tiff (.tif), targa vista (.vst and .tga), and scitex handshake (.hnd, .hn1, and .hn2)

info

Purpose
To show textual information about the selected image.

Usage
Clicking on this button after selecting a file in the source or destination directory will pop up a text box with some textual technical information about the image, like size and image depth.

update

Purpose
To save time when performing actions on a large set of files.

Usage
Normally when a series of animation files have to be, moved, copied or deleted, some checks are made and the listbox is updated so the user can see the progress of the actions. However this also takes a lot of overhead. When a lot (more than 50) of files are selected the update check button can suppress the update after each file. Selecting the update button again will let everything update.

move

Purpose
To move the selected file(s) in the source directory to the destination directory.

Usage
Select file(s) in the source directory. Select the destination directory and select move.

copy

Purpose
To copy the selected file(s) from the source directory in the destination directory.

Usage
Select file(s) in the source directory. Select the destination directory and select copy.

delete

Purpose
To delete the selected file(s) in the one of the two directories.

Usage
Select file(s) in one of the listboxes. Select delete. A confirmation dialogue box will pop up. After selecting yes, the selected files will be deleted.

rename

Purpose
To rename a file.

Usage
After selecting one still filename or a list of animation file names (with the same name) a dialogue box will pop up at the top of the screen. The box displays the selected name in the old and the new box. Selecting the new file name box allows you to edit the name. The position of the mouse pointer defines where the cursor is placed. With backspace characters may be removed. Pressing the Enter or the confirm button renames the selected file. If you have second thoughts about renaming press cancel.

Comments
When selecting a list of animation files a distinction is made between the name of the file and its extension.
