Usage
The key-framed animation displayed after clicking the play, record or simulate buttons starts at the value shown in the left entry box and will stop at the value in the right entry box. Click on a box and type a new frame number. The range of the timeline will change accordingly.
Comments
To allow simulations and recordings to run indefinitely, the end value is doubled when a simulation or recording comes to its last frame.

Usage
The realtime user interaction that is recorded after clicking the record button is only recorded between the record start frame and the record end frame. Animation outside this range is left unchanged.
Comments
The record interval can also be changed by dragging the start or end arrows in the timeline with the left mouse button.

Usage
Watch the frame counter during playback and simulation. The key-frames that have been set for the splines or skins of the active solid are shown as dashes on the timeline. Separate key-frames can be set for splines (including their skeletons), and skins. Playback of the animation begins at the start frame and stops at the end frame (but simulations and recordings run until stopped by the user).
The left mouse button can be used to drag the frame indicator along the timeline in order to scroll back and forth through the animation. The middle mouse button can be used to reposition one key-frame, and the right mouse button repositions all key-frames to the right of the frame indicator. This effectively changes the timing of the animation. The key-frames can furthermore be manipulated with fix, unfix and freeze.
If a flipbook recording has been made (i.e., the record flipbook button in a camera window is switched on and all frames are recorded), the timeline shows the flipbook recorded frames rather than the wireframe model. The speed of this display can be changed with the frames/sec value. To leave this mode simply switch off the record flipbook button of all camera controls.
Comments
If the key-frames seem to have disappeared, they might have been set in an editing mode different from the current mode. Try clicking spline or skin. To be sure that the display of the key-frames is up to date, move the mouse pointer over the timeline. Also remember that only the key-frames of the active solid are shown.
