fix

Purpose

Usage
Make sure freeze is active and move the timeline slider to the desired frame and click fix to fix the spline or skin shape as a key-frame on that frame.

Comments
Fixes can be moved around using the middle mouse button to move one fix or the right mouse button to move all fixes after the current frame. Freeze is used to prevent updating the active solid when moving the timeline slider so it wont delete your edits. Normally freeze is automatically activated whenever editing actions are started.

freeze

Purpose
To prevent updating the active solid when moving the timeline slider so it wont delete your edits.

Usage
Click freeze to prevent updating the active solid when moving the timeline slider.

Comments
Freeze is activated whenever there is user interaction with the active spline (e.g. when a point is moved). This means that after editing, the timeline slider can be moved to a desired key-frame for fixing (without updating the animation, which would discard the edits).

Freeze is deactivated when play is pressed because play shows key-frames.

Freeze is not deactivated when simulate is pressed.

After recording user interaction with record, freeze will normally be activated because there was user interaction. If you want to simulate afterwards to see the result, make sure you deactivate freeze, or else your recording wont be visible.

sample by

Purpose
To set the number of frames by which the user interaction is sampled (recorded) when using record.

Usage
Click the entry box next to sample by and enter the desired number of frames by which the user interaction is to be sampled. By default sample by is set to 5.

Comments
When the motion that is to be recorded is rather fast or erratic, use a lower value for sample by (e.g. 3) this results in a more accurate approximation of the recorded user interaction.

delete ani

Purpose
To delete the animation of the active solid including spline and skin animations.

Usage
Click delete ani and answer yes to delete all animation information of the active solid.

Comments
Sometimes the timeline still shows key-frames after deleting an animation. In that case it was not refreshed immediately, to make sure it gets refreshed, move the mouse pointer over the timeline and see the deleted key-frames disappear.

reset simulation

Purpose
To reset the dynamic behavior of all splines and/or to clear all particles of the active solid.

Usage
Click the reset simulation button to activate it. All dynamic points will be reset to the position they had before any simulation.

Comments
It is usually not enough to start again from frame 1 for a new simulation because the dynamic points are still in their old positions. Clicking reset simulation resets the dynamic points as well.
